This year’s London Film Festival will open with the European Premiere of 360 — Fernando Meirelles’ suspenseful romantic drama.
360 reunites the City of God and Blindness director with Rachel Weisz, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for his John le Carré adaptation, The Constant Gardner, which opened the LFF in 2005.
360 — which also stars Jude Law and Sir Anthony Hopkins — is written by Peter Morgan, whose Frost/Nixon closed the festival in 2008.
The festival describes 360 as “a modern and stylish kaleidoscope of interconnected love and relationships linking characters from different cities and countries.”
In her final year as the festival’s Artistic Director, Sandra Hebron said that with it’s impeccable film making credentials and an intriguing premise, 360 combined masterful visual story telling with a modern and moving narrative.
Meirelles said he was very honoured that his intimate film, talking about our options in life, was opening one of the best festivals in the world.
The festival runs from October 12 to 27 and the full programme will be announced next month.
