The Spins is an Italian female fronted pop band created by Alessia Mattalia, the most renowned female drummer in Italy, in March 2004.
Along with the only female Italian drummer ever featured by MODERN DRUMMER magazine (June 2001 issue) the band consists of Marcello Giordano on keyboards (co-author of I WISH YOU, theme score of DEMO, the most followed Italian radio programme about indie music), Elisabetta Beiletti (17 y.o. lead vocalist from Puerto Rico) and two of the most requested Italian session musicians, Michele Manzo on bass (former member of Italian pop band Agenzia Tormenti) and Andrea Fantuzzi.
In April The Spins recorded their first 5-songs EP, which will be released in December 2004 by Dutch label Dying Giraffe Recordings.
