Harry Potter London Studio Tour Announces Wand Week

Warner Bros. London-based Harry Potter Tour will host Wand Week Feb. 16-24.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter has announced Wand Week, a special showcase to be held Feb. 16-24 during which visitors to the tour will get an inside look into the world of wand making, spell casting, and wizarding duels, including activities created by Harry Potter special effects and choreography experts.

Wand Week will feature original moulds, concept art and wand designs, as well as wand shop proprietor Mr. Ollivander’s costume on display for the first time in front of his store. The Studio Tour staff will be on hand to instruct visitors in the wand movements seen in the films. Guests will also be treated to a first-hand look at the process of developing fight scenes, and learn tidbits of wand trivia, such as the fact that Daniel Radcliffe wore out over 60 wands during the course of the series.

The Making of Harry Potter Tour opened in March 2012, and has been well-reviewed by guests. Its aim is to immerse visitors in the world of the films, and reveal the British technology and artistry behind them. Highlights include a walk through the Great Hall, seeing the treasures stored in Dumbledore’s office and a stroll down Diagon Alley. Tickets must be booked in advance and are not available for purchase at the attraction.
