Write Girl’s Bold Ink Awards Honors Fearless Women Writers

Los Angeles, Ca- The Bold Ink Awards, hosted by WriteGirl, proudly recognized the entertainment industry’s top writers at its annual gala Monday night.

Fearless women writers were honored at the awards ceremony. Melissa Rosenberg, Screenwriter for Dexter and The Twilight Saga In addition, other women writers recognized, Lisa Cholodenko, Screenwriter and Director of The Kids Are All Right; Zoe Kazan, Screenwriter of Ruby Sparks and Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, authors of the Beautiful Series were among the esteemed cliental.

WriteGirl is a mentoring non-profit organization that promotes creativity to empower girls.  “We use writing as a device for confidence,” said Associate Director and founding member, Allison Deegan. Founded in 2001, WriteGirl has had a successful 100% graduate rate. Professional women writers are partnered with girls for weekly and monthly sessions. Teen girls are encouraged to develop their self-expression through various styles of writing, poetry; creative non-fiction, fiction, song writing, journalism and more.
