Minute, a low-budget short film based on Faisal Quershi’s award winning
script (Moviepoet best short script). The Lottery
funded
film has a high profile and will be screened on terrestrial TV and at film
festivals such as Cannes and Raindance.
This dark war story tells of two journalists caught up in Chechnian
guerrilla
warfare.
We are looking for:
Ghassan…veteran Journalist: Male, late 40s – early 50s. Asian or Arabic.
Accents an advantage. Will be taught to speak a few lines in Russian.
Usman…Journalist: Male, 22-27. Asian. English speaking.
2 Commander Guerillas: Male, 20-35, Eastern European looking. Ability to
speak Russian a distinct advantage, but not essential. Accents an
advantage.
6-8 non-speaking Guerillas: Male, 20-35, Eastern European looking.
Victim 1: Male. 50-65. Eastern European looking. Ability to speak Russian a
distinct advantage, but not essential. Accents an advantage.
Victim 2: Male. 22-29. Eastern European looking. Ability to speak Russian a
distinct advantage, but not essential. Accents an advantage.
Victim 3: Female. 31-39. Eastern European looking. Ability to speak Russian
a distinct advantage, but not essential. Accents an advantage.
This Lottery funded short film is unpaid, but VHS copies will be provided
and
expenses paid. It will be shot in Liverpool on the 6-9th of October 2003.
