Synopsis: Black teenager, Mark, an aspiring garage MC, is forced to make decisions about his future, whilst learning important lessons about Afro-Caribbean heritage inBritain.
This is a small production, for educational purposes. As the film is only partly grant-funded this is a voluntary based project. A VHS copy and expenses can be offered.
The film will be shown inLondonschools but we are also targeting broadcasters and festivals worldwide. We will also use the film to help pitch possible future projects.
The shooting dates are currently scheduled for the end of April.Londonbased locations.
Here’s what we are looking for:
MARK: 15 year old boy – Black British (Afro-Caribbean origin) clean
appearance, preferably low hair cut.
DANIEL: 15 year old boy – Black British (Afro-Caribbean origin),
fashionable/trendy. Locks or plaits/braids.
SARAH: 15/16 year old girl – European white, pretty. Fashionable.
Brunette/brown hair.
MARVA: 45 year old Afro-Caribbean woman. Career type (city woman). Very well groomed – hair/make-up.
DENNIS: 46 year old Afro-Caribbean man. Average build, greying
slightly. Dark. Owns a printing business.
LEROY: 25 year old Black-British (Afro-Caribbean origin). Dark, well groomed. Smartly dressed. Hard face.
MILTON: 80 years old. Afro-Caribbean. Slightly overweight. Grey. Kind face. (Caribbeanaccent essential)
