Vin Diesel is back in the action film as Dominic Toretto along with Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs. Overseas, the movie also came in first with over $100 million.

Coming in second is a movie that was not expected to receive as much attention in the box office as it did. Now You See Me is a movie about a team of illusionists who robs banks with their magician skills and the battle to catch them. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco the movie comes in with $28 million.

After Earth, starring the father- son duo of Will and Jaden Smith, came in a close third with $27 million. The movie was expected to come in first in the charts, but last week’s holdover took first leaving Sony with disappointing results.

In the film, the Smiths are father and son, as well, living in a future world 1,000 years ahead. Young Smith is left to find help to save his futuristic homeland after his father becomes injured.

Will Smith came up with the story idea for After Earth and was also the producer of the film. Other stars include Sophie Okonedo and Zoe Kravitz.

Star Trek Into Darkness, fell to fourth this week with $16.4 million, tying with Epic at the same amount. In the worldwide charts, however, the movie ranked third while Epic was fourth.

Sixth in the charts is The Hangover 3, the ending of the comedy series directed by Todd Phillips. The Wolf Pack, a group of four men who encounter trouble wherever they may be, is back with Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha stirring up more hilarious trouble and chaos in their final adventure.

The movie brought in $15.9 million in the US charts, but received more success overseas in second with $109.5 million.

Opening in the first week of the month is The Stone Roses: Made of Stone on Wednesday and Cyborg and Wrath of God open on Friday, overseas.
