Short Film Scent – Northern England
For the last four days the location of our latest photography job has been a film set in Northern Lincolnshire. We were contacted a while ago by a film production company, Blueprint Film, to provide film stills photography for a short film they would be shooting during the last week.
Without revealing any details of the short film, called Scent, I can tell you that it was an extremely hectic schedule with everyone working as a team from 06:00 till 23:00 every day.
The location also made life difficult as some scenes were shot in small 3×5 meter rooms and even smaller hallways with 8 to 10 members of the cast and crew squeezed in. It all had to function like a well-oiled machine to ensure that every scene was shot successfully in the allotted time.
The biggest difficulty for the stills photographer (me) was to find a 1×1 meter space to fit in while keeping out of shot and be able to capture the actor’s expressions successfully without making any noise. My home made sound blimp really came into it’s own as I could shoot in most locations without being picked up by the sound engineer (will post details on how it was made later).
It was hard work but it was fun and the people involved with the production were all professional and very good at what they do.
More details soon…
