Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher has been confirmed as the man to play the Apple computers co-founder Steve Jobs in the indie pic Jobs, ending months of rumours and speculations that flared after the passing of the protagonist last year.

To be directed by Jushua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) from a script by Matt Whiteley, the film will chronicle Steve Jobss life from the hippie days to the co-founding of Apple, which became one of the most innovative and successful companies in recent history.

The picture is scheduled to start production in May, while Kutcher is on hiatus from his hit CBS series.

Kutcher, who bears some physical resemblance to young Jobs, was last seen in two romantic comedies New Year Eve and No String Attached.
