BAFTA/LA to honour Ben Stiller

BAFTA’s Los Angeles branch is to honour Ben Stiller with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.
Veteran TV producer Nigel Lythgoe, who’s the chairman of BAFTA LA, said Stiller was “a master of comedy who, just like the legendary filmmaker for whom this award is named, embodies the remarkable multi-hyphenate talents of actor, writer, director and producer.”
Stiller – who’s starred in comedy hits including Zoolander, Dodgeball, There’s Something About Mary, Starsky & Hutch, Tropic Thunder and Meet the Parents – will receive the Award at a ceremony in November, at which the actress Helena Bonham Carter and the animator John Lasseter will also be honoured.
