Bed-ridden cancer-stricken Hopper files for divorce

The actor and director Dennis Hopper says he’s begun proceedings to divorce his wife.
The seventy three year old has a six year old daughter with Victoria Duffy.
He is understood to have recently begun a course of chemotherapy to treat prostate cancer —
In a statement, Hopper said he wished his wife the best — but he wanted to spend “these difficult days surrounded only by his children and close friends.”
He has three children from a previous marriage.
His eldest daughter, Marin, said in a statement that her father was brave — and fighting “a hell of a battle.”
Hopper is perhaps best known for directing and starring in the 1969 film Easy Rider, which also won him an Oscar nomination for the screenplay.
In a career spanning more than five decades, he’s also appeared in films such as Rebel Without A Cause, Giant, Apocalypse Now, Blue Velvet and Speed.
