Cannes announces full jury line-up

LFF2011: Ramsay puts Shrivers Kevin on the screenThe British director Lynne Ramsay, who’s We Need To Talk About Kevin, was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes two years ago, has been named as part of this year’s jury, presided over by Steven Spielberg.

Others on the jury, that will pick this year’s winner at Cannes, include Oscar-winning director Ang Lee, who’s twice been nominated for the Palme d’Or himself, and the Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, whose 4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days won the top prize in 2007.

The jury will also include the actors Nicole Kidman, Daniel Auteuil and Christoph Waltz, who’s best known for his Golden Globe and Oscar-winning performances for his films with Quentin Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds and most recently Django Unchained.

The Indian actress Vidya Balan and the Japanese director Naomi Kawase complete the jury.

The jury deciding which film should win the festival’s more art-house strand, Un Certain Regard, will be headed by the Danish director Thomas Vinterberg, whose The Hunt was in the main competition last year.
