With no confirmation from the studio, it’s been left to EL James, the author of one of the fastest selling erotic trilogies of all time, the Fifty Shades books, to confirm the rumours – Christian Grey has been cast…again.

Just two weeks after the Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam pulled out of the high profile role, citing a busy schedule, his fellow British actor Jamie Dornan has signed up to star alongside Dakota Johnson, who’ll play the protagonist Anastasia Steele.

Dornan, who’s 31, is best known as a model for Calvin Klein but as well as appearing in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, he’s starred in the TV series Once Upon a Time and The Fall.

Universal had to find a new actor quickly, because it’s already lined up a summer release for the first film, Fifty Shades of Grey.
