The fourht installment of the hit prehistoric toon series, Ice Age 4: continential Drift bowed this weekend in the US with $46 million, taking the top spot in the box office. Intenationaly, the film continued to shine with $95 milion, brining its offshore total to $339 million, making for a worldwide tally of $385 million.

Voiced by multi-ethnic stars including Ray Romano, John Leguzamo, Queen Latifa, the computer animation follows a group of prehistoric characters heading to the open seas on a melting iceberg. 

Last week’s champion, The Amazing Spiderman, was pushed to the second spot with $35 million in the US, reaching $200.9 by the end of its second weekend,  and $66.2 million overseas, totaling $320.5 million in 8 weeks. The superhero movie has grossed $521.4 million wordwide.

R-rated comdedy Ted, featuring Mark Wahlberg and a foul-mouth cgi teddybear, continued to impress, with $22.1 million over the weekend, landing in 3rd spot in the US box office. The film US box total stands at $159 million.

Another animated picture, Pixar’s The Brave, claims the fourht spot with $10.7 million, reaching $195.6 million since its release. It was followed by the male stripper dramedy, Magic Mike, which added another 9 million to its cume over the weekend, totaling $91.9 since its release.

Magic Mike, which features Channing Tatum and Mathew McConaughey, was also ranked third in its opening weekend overseas, grossing $4.7 million.
