The London Film Festival has announced its 55th programme.
The outgoing Artistic Director Sandra Hebrons final festival will start and finish with Rachel Weisz films 360, by Fernando Meirelles, and Terence Davies The Deep Blue Sea and include two Gala presentations starring George Clooney the political thriller The Ides of March, which he also directs, and Alexander Paynes latest feature, The Descendants.
Over the course of the sixteen day event, therell be more than two hundred feature films, including thirteen world premieres.
Short film programmes will showcase more than a hundred live action and animated shorts.
Among the literary adaptations are Lynne Ramsays highly anticipated We Need To Talk About Kevin and Michael Winterbottoms reworking of Tess of the DUrbervilles, Trishna.
Vanessa Redgrave will feature in two more the Ralph Fiennes helmed Coriolanus and Roland Emmerichs Anonymous, which questions the authorship of Shakespeares works.
Madonnas telling of the story of Wallis Simpson and the abdication that featured in last years The Kings Speech, W.E. is another eagerly awaited feature.
Other films that have featured at festivals including Cannes and Venice, such as The Kid With a Bike and David Cronenbergs A Dangerous Method will also be screening at the many venues across London.
The festival, that runs from October 12 to 27 will also feature a series of talks and masterclasses.
This years London Star awards will be handed out at a gala evening on the 26th.
