Miramax opens an office in London

The Hollywood entertainment company, Miramax, announced the opening of its first international office in London, which will be based in Covent Garden.
Miramax London will be headed by the company’s senior vice president, Domestic Television and Digital Sales, Joe Patrick, who will continue to report to Miramax CEO Mike Lang.
Joe Patrick, who was executive vice president at MGM Worldwide Television Group prior to joining Miramax, is to be joined by Danny Goldman, who will act as a senior vice president and Head of Sales, Europe. Goldman, who prior to joining to Miramax was the CEO of Power Television and before that was a senior vice president of Sales in Sony Pictures, will report to Patrick.
“We are very pleased to have Joe take on a broader role, as his relationship and experience have proven extremely valuable. We are fortunate to have him on our team and look forward to his continued success in this new, expanded role,” said Lang.
“Danny brings tremendous experience and strong relationships, and we are thrilled that he will lead our London office day-to-day,” he added.
Known for producing and distributing independent and foreign films, Miramax was founded in 1979 by brothers Bob and Harvey Weinstein. The brothers continued to run the company even after it was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 1993 until 2005, when they decided to leave following irreconcilable differences with the heads of Disney. In 2010, Miramax was sold to Filmyard Holdings.
