SCREEN EAST LAUNCHES DIGIBYTES
The search is on to find the region’s most innovative filmmaking talent to make a short film as part of the DigiBytes and Digital Nation short film schemes.
Are you the next Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan or Gurinder Chadha? Want to make a short film? Regional Screen Agency, Screen East is looking for anything from horror to comedy, animation to documentary. If you’ve got what it takes to make an award winning short film then they want to hear from you.
The Digital Shorts scheme partners the UK Film Council New Cinema Fund to enable emerging talent to make short digital films with professional support.
Screen East will be choosing eight projects for development, and producing five of those films after the development period. Four films with a cash budget of up to £10,500 and one film with a cash budget of up to £15,000. In addition, a sixth film will be commissioned under a new animation strand 4Mations.
Digital Nation (formerly Digital Shorts Plus) is an opportunity to join a nationwide talent pool and participate in an extensive tailored development process designed to hone your script and your filmmaking talent. At the end of the development process, six films will be selected to be made at budgets of between £18,000 and £20,000.
Screen East’s New Talent Executive, Sam Burton says: “DigiBytes and Digital Nation are a great opportunity to make a short film with professional support and training.
