The Best UK Short went to Michael Davies, for Love at First Sight and the Best International Short was Sven Vinges Words, from Denmark.

The prizes were announced by the jury, which included the actor Dexter Fletcher, the director Gillies Mackinnon and the broadcaster and critic Alex Zane.

The festivals director Elliot Grove said there were some outstanding films across the whole line-up and said the 2011 event had been particularly successful, with attendance being 62% higher than last year. He said the success of the festival proved that the appetite for independent film was thriving.
