Paul McCarthy

Hi Thanks for having a look at my page. I have been an actor for 28 years, trained with Kate Williams and Adrian Shergold at The Theatre Royal Stratford East and The Barbara Speak Stage School. I have appeared in a varied amount of programs from the Benny Hill show, Z Cars and Mixed Blessings, played the Artful Dodger in "Oliver" at the Albury Theatre, in London’s West End. Since then I have been on television with Keith Barron and Nannette Newman in the BBC's ‘Late Expectations’ Wendy Craig in ‘Laura and Disorder’ also for the BBC. But I would be most remembered for the role of Tommy Watson in ‘Grange Hill’ and ‘Tuckers Luck.’ My directorial credits include ‘Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay,’ at the Pentameters Theatre Hampstead, ‘News Review’ at The Canal café Theatre. I have also been writing scripts for sometime and have just completed my first feature film, 'Hello My Lovelies,' which follows the life of one of England's most loved comedians Mrs. Shufflewick, from the start of his career at the Windmil Theatre to his untimely death. The script is doing the rounds looking for a producer. I have just finished directing and acting in an adult pantomime based on Dick Whittington. I also wrote the script. This was performed at the Brighton Pavilion Theatre in Feb 2003.2004 UPDATE,I have now compleated an acting diploma at Alra. Whilst at drama school I played the part of Mike Phipps in, The Bill.Matilda, my baby girl was born on the 10th Oct 2004. So I am now officially a grown up.
