The Dark Knight Rises continued to dominate the US and international box office with ease over the weekend, drawing $64.1 million and $122.1 million respectively. In spite of the tragic shooting accident in Colorado last week, Christopher Nolans final Batman title has grossed an impressive $537.7 million worldwide in its 10 days release. 

 

Limping way behind in the second place was Ice Age: Continental Drift, which adds another $13.3 million over the weekend, totaling $114.8 million since its US release. The latest sequel in the computer-animated franchise  also claimed the second spot overseas with $49.4 million, helping it to break the half-billion gross mark ($514 million) in the international box office.

 

Foxs comedy The Watch landed in the third place, debuting with a meager $13 million dollar in the US box office. Starring Ben Stiller,Vince Vaughn, Johah Hill and Richard Ayoade, the sci-fi pic is about a group of neighbourhood watch volunteers who stop an alien attack. 

 

Dance movie, Step Up Revolution also had a disappointing opening weekend, earning only $11.8 million in the US box office, well short of the previous three films in the dance franchise pic. Released in 3D, the film cost $33 million to produce. 

 

The fifth spot was claimed by Mark Wahlbergs raunchy comedy, Ted, which drew $7.4 in the US box office.

 

The Amazing Spider-Man ranked 6th in the US box office with $6.8 million and 4th in the international box office with $12.2 million. Since its release, the fourth movie in the blockbuster series has earned $412.7 million overseas and 242.1 million in the US. It was followed by Pixars The Brave, which landed in the 7th spot in the US box office with $4.2 million and in the 5th spot internationally with 9.6 million.
