You can update your personal page any time as many times as you like. In fact, we strongly recommend that you update the information on your page frequently to keep it current.

This may happen with some older web browsers. You need to select the "Refresh" or "Reload" function on your browser and the changes should become visible. If you cannot find this function it may be necessary to exit and restart your web browser.

  5. I want to update my page but I have forgotten my username!

Your username is part of the web address for your page - see question 1 above for details. If you are not sure of your username, simply search for your full name using the search facility available on every page. You can then examine the address of your page to find your username.

  6. I have forgotten my UK screen password!

If you have forgotten your password, you can have it emailed to you by following this link and entering your UK screen username.

If your email doesn't work anymore then you have to upgrade your membership, after which your password will be automatically sent to you by our system

    .

  7. How can I edit my web links?

Follow the process for editing your personal page (see question 3 above). An option to edit your web links will be displayed when editing your page.

  8. How can I print out my page without the header and sidebar?

When viewing your personal page (or that of any member), select the "Print Page"e; option from the sidebar on the left-hand side, and follow the on-screen instructions.

  9. What will happen if I upload a new photo or a new showreel?

When editing your page you have the option to upload photos and showreels. You can upload a maximum of six photos and one showreel. Photos and showreels will never be overwritten without your permission.

  10. Can I delete my personal page?

You can delete your page whenever you wish and for whatever reason. Follow the instructions for editing your page (question 3 above) and select the "Delete Page"e; option. 12. How can I promote my page?

It is not enough just to have your web page on the Internet. We give you the tools to get your page online but it's up to you to promote your page. Here are some tips that you might find useful:

Your Email and CV: You can put the web address of your personal page in your email signature, and on your CV. This will make people aware of your page.

Mailing-lists and Newsgroups: One of the simplest ways to promote your page is to join mailing-lists and newsgroups then introduce yourself and your web page. That way, people on these groups will know where to find you when they need you in the future.

Search Engines: This is by far the most important promotion tool available. It is important because search engines are the primary tools used by everyone to find pages on the Internet.
UKscreen personal pages are optimised and automatically sent to major search engines. Therefore, your page should be ranked on the top ten results of search engines. If your page is not ranked on the top ten of search engines then you should Improve your page by editing it.
UKscreen pages, however, can't be sent automatically to Web directories like yahoo, looksmart and others, as these directories are run by humans. Therefore, if you want your page to be listed on Yahoo and other directories, then you must post it manually, After which a Yahoo personnel will visit your page and consider it for listing.
UK screen pages that are listed on Web directories receive thousands of hits per month, So it's highly recommended it. Here are some instructions of how to list your page on major Directories:

    1. Yahoo: By far the most important. Go to yahoo , find your category listing and click on "Suggest Site" in the bottom of your category page, then follow the instructions.
    2. Looksmart: Is very important but not Free. However, you can get listed free on their daughter site zeal.com . Here you have to be a member first, click on http://www.zeal.com/users/become_a_zealot.jhtml to join then suggest your page for listing.
    3. Open directory: Another important directory. Go to Open directory and click on Add URL then follow the instructions.

Remember, it's not easy to get listed on these directories, so you must improve your page before you submit it and follow the submission instructions carefully. If it's not listed in 3-4 months then try again.

  13. How can I change my Username?

Our system recognizes members by their username, therefore it's very difficult and complicated to change a username.
The best way to do it is to re-register with the new username. Alternatively, if you are a Premium member then you can use the "Change Username" function from the left side menu on your page.

It's the web address from where the visitor clicked on you you web page link

  16. What is 'visitor' on my page stats?

  17. Can I link my credits to external webpage?

Yes. However you must link correctly. For instance if your credits is "Titanic" and you want to link it to IMBD site then your link will be us.imdb.com/Title?0120338.
