Queen seeks new butler

It may not command the highest salary and the hours might be long and arduous – but jobseekers who want to work for a prestigious boss need look no further.

The Queen has advertised for a trainee butler to join her staff at Buckingham Palace, looking after her and other members of the Royal household.
The successful applican, will be based at Buckingham Palace but must also be willing to spend at least three months of the year at other Royal residences, including Balmoral in the Highlands and Sandrigham in Norfolk.
While the salary on offer is only £15,000 a year, butlers receive free accommodation and are trained to the highest standard.
Many of those who boast long service with the Queen can go on to command very high salaries in the private sector, with their services in particular demand in the United States.
According to the advertisement, applicants for the role must possess a friendly, polite and approachable disposition with the ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
