BEING BURIED ALIVE WAS NO WONDERLAND FOR ALICE

with Alice

Met up again with the lovely English actress Alice Eve, whom I last saw when we lunched together at the Sunset Marquis a few weeks ago. This time we were at the Four Seasons where Alice was promoting her new movie The Raven.
The daughter of English TV star Trevor Eve (remember Shoestring?), Alice is a girl who is heading for the A-list with roles in the soon-to-be-released blockbusters Men in Black 3 and Star Trek.

Alice in The Raven

The requirements of neither of those roles, however, compare with what she had to go through in The Raven, a horror tale loosely based on the last days of Edgar Allan Poe. Kidnapped by a serial killer, her character is buried alive which entailed Alice, too, being confined in a coffin.
“I’m claustrophobic so being buried alive in a stinking wet box made me panic,” she recalled. “I took a breath and all the oxygen went out of the coffin and I had to get out. I had to get back in again but this time I just took little breaths and it was a bit better.”
