Philip Steiner (dir./prod./screenwriter) is accepting submissions for “The House” a digital feature length film about the coming of age of four young adults (early 20’s) who meet in London and work together to survive.
Although some of the characters are gay – it is not a gay story but rather deals extensively with relationships, loyalty and friendship. There are no actual nor simulated sexual acts.
The director/producer is a recent graduate of the New York Film Academy – Universal City, California.
Copy, credit and meals provided. There is no pay.
Breakdown:
Justin: British, early 20’s, serious with no sense of humor but a strong sense of loyalty to friends and family, graduate of Oxford, tormented by the guilt of working in a male brothel.
Dima: Russian, early 20’s, comical heavy accent, clearly intelligent but without an academic education, quick and witty, street smart. Also works in the brothel.
Anthony: American, early 20’s, very good looking but extraordinarily shy and introverted. His introversion has caused him to be often taken advantage of by others. Demonstrates early signs of mental illness. Also works in the brothel.
Christian: South African, late teens, youthful looking but tough, quiet and physically intimidating. Supports his family in South Africa. Works two other jobs in addition to the brothel. Self educated with a great desire to attend college.
Richard, mid 40’s, London brothel co-owner. Bi-polar, often depressed, cruel and ruthless in running his brothel.
Ian, late 20’s, assistant to Richard. Responsible for greeting clients and the day to day operation of the brothel. Kind, decent, sensitive and very well liked.
Maria, 20’s, British, hip, accepting of everyone and everything and surprised by nothing in life. Works in the banking industry. Well liked but has difficulty maintaining long term relationships.
George, 50’s, British brothel client, single, successful but extraordinary lonely, homely and quite overweight. However, kind, considerate and sensitive. Far into the closet.
Hayden, 60’s, British, flamboyant gay brothel client. Represents himself as being wealthy but is actually quite poor. Superficially nice but really quite mean, manipulative and sarcastic.
Andre, 50’s, French, married brothel client who lives in Paris but visits London often. Wealthy, well connected and highly oversexed. Insensitive to people’s feelings.
Alex, 40’s, Brothel client who works in the American embassy. Kind, secretive, emotionally starved. Quite handsome and well kept for his age.Hi Philip
