POP PROMO CHALLENGE entry opens 1st june

555 POP PROMO are running a pop promo challenge with backing and surport from oddballchallenge.com they are looking for talented film makers to take part in their new pop promo challenge they have 25 bands and are looking for 25 film crews to produce a pop promo in 5 days to then be screened on MTV2 and in a London cinema
WHAT IS 555 POP PROMO?
Flophouse Films is bringing together its first 2 loves, music and film, in an exciting, creative, collaberative and practical challenge set over 5 days in August.
At the kick off, filmmakers will be paired up with carefully selected bands. They’ll get an envelope with a CD of the single, creative brief and contact details for the artist’s management. Over 5 days they will have to make a pop promo, less than five minutes long to compete for £5,000 worth of prizes.
This competition differs from other short film competitions because we are encouraging a practical outcome, ie: the promo will be able to be played out on MTV2!
It will assist the band by giving them a free video they can use – the hamstring of young Indi bands is being unable to afford them. It will assist the filmmakers by giving them a pop promo from a good emerging band for their reels, the chance to win some prizes, and a chance to see their work play out on the UK’s coolest music channel.
Bands are given the right to reject the final product for use after the competition and screening – this is to protect some of the bigger artists to protect their brand. However, all artists and management will be fully aware of the fun & collaborative spirit of the competition.
At the end of the competition they final promos will be judged by a panel of industry pros, we’ll throw a fancy party and screening in London.
