As a camera technician who has spent more than 20 years in film and television production, I have to tell you that generally, directors and producers I have worked with have learnt their craft over a number of years and not just on some super fastrack weekend course! I am not saying these courses are no good, but you have to consider that by paying for, and completing a course does not mean instant employment in this industry. Your best bet would be to get in touch with an organisation such as BECTU, and find out about their Skillset courses. Don’t be in too much of a hurry !! Get it right. It will pay off.
