SwissTim films is a London based production company specialising in making thrillers, with smatterings of action, drama, suspense, horror and comedy. Basically, all the cool stuff! The general rule is, if it’s dark, disturbing or downright seditious, we’ll make it at some point. We shoot on hi-def, and our last big project was a short counter-terrorism thriller charting the adventures of MI5 agents in near future London, fighting a back-alleys war against terrorism, featuring spies less like James Bond and more like Jedi Knights.
For the rest of this years production slate, we have 3-4 short films (Assisted Suicide, Counteract : Esoteric, Vampires Fire & Surface Tension), one music video TBC and a feature film project which we’re looking to attach some great names to (6-7 week late summer shoot TBC). In addition to this, we have several projects in development with potential American backing and distribution.
The crew is getting pretty good, great cameraman, a retired hollywood fight choreographer works with us on most productions, superbly realistic makeup.. Oh, and a BBC editor on board.
So that’s enough background. Our 1st AD has recenctly moved on, and we’re looking for some new blood to fill the void.
The position is initially unpaid, the short films & music video will be mainly evening and weekends, though the feature film will be full time and as much as possible financed. Ideally, the role would develop into a full SwissTim Films business partner, as the 1st AD position is so integral and crucial. We’re also happy that the role develop into directing your own films aswell under the STF brandname, since we’ve got all this lovely hi-def kit lying around gathering dust when we’re not shooting ourselves.
The role would suit a relative newcomer to the industry, graduate or similar, with good understanding of all the aspects of digital film and professional productions and looking to apply this knowledge to gain experience and further themselves.
Applicants should ideally have an encyclopaedic knowledge of Lethal Weapon 2 & Snatch dialogue for appropriate on-set sarcasm, along with a passionate interest in making engaging films on challenging subjects, while having a really great laugh.
