Hi, check out the job centre web site, there is an add on there for extras London Bridge paying £65.00 an hour!!. I called the Job centre to see if this was legit as it says 1 to 5 hours a week but the Job centre could not say!. the main number they give does not work, one mobile was not answered the second gives a voice message. but I got through to them, they say send a SAE for an application form, then they may select me to come for an audition.
I asked what the speciif job is she said various jobs (so not actually a shoot at London Bridge as the add says) and that I may not be suitable as I do not sound like I am black for reaggae videos! but she gave me the address. I am going to apply as I want to see what they come up with, I suspect, but of course do not know, they will ask for money, thats what I want to find out, I will let you know.Interesting…Keep us advised on this one Bob as it would be interesting to see what the jobcentre does with these guys if they are not 100 legit. Probably nothing…but here hoping.

ForbesKBYears ago, I applied for a job posted at the job centre for a PA to a film producer with the option to go for roles. The interview was held in a local bar which was pretty sus and it turned out the guy was more interested in getting me back to his place to discuss further details – needless to say I didn’t go back and I didn’t get the job – never heard from him again. I did, however, tell the job centre and they said they would take the notice out.

AntoinetteIt is not a field that Job Centres are particularly aware of so they will more than likely do nothing or, at best, pass the info on to the DTI for closer scrutiny.
Having said that, I cannot imagine any agency being stupid enough to try a scam on the Job Centre website. I wouldn’t suggest this is logic for legitimacy but neither would it indicate fraud.
The third point would be down to the Job Centre itself probably. The claim that pay is set at £65ph will be a clerical error by their IT staff, not the agency. You cannot hold the agency to possible clerical errors, especially when they may not be at fault for this.
Rather than put yourself through the awkward situation of asking, why not contact British Actors Equity and see if the agency is black listed when you get their name.
Regards – Anton LangWell my paperwork arrived today, Not sure what to make of it, they only ask for £3.00 which is to make a security id badge ‘to keep london safer’. they advise they have a mobile audition unit and will do too scenes at London Bridge. If you pass the audition, they will notify you next day and you can join to be offered the high paid work, of which they advise there is lots. thay have a moto stating ‘support for unemployed in creative media’. I have the paperwork if any one wants to see it. Rob
