Sally BeaumontMember
I’d be interested- I have a playing age of 30, am able to do “serious” parts and have an RP accent.
To see my showreel visit http://www.sallybeaumont.com
Thanks
SallySally BeaumontMemberI’m afraid I experience this twice over- when a writer and an actor.
The script they want for free, the acting they want for free…notice a theme?
As an actor, I judge whether I want to be in an unpaid project by the script. If the script is awful, I won’t do it, like most good performers. So if a project is to get decent performers, they’ve either got to invest in actors or writers.
Preferably both.Sally BeaumontMemberI’d like to be considered- please see my CV and showreel at http://www.sallybeaumont.com
Thanks,
SallySally BeaumontMemberNice photos- you obviously have some modelling experience and you look very beautiful.
I’d say from a casting point of view that it’s a little (if you’ll forgive the stereotyping) “bitchy”, which might limit your casting potential. I’d like to see something a little more open maybe smiling, straight to camera, less modelly more natural…
Currently changing mine, so watch this space.Sally BeaumontMemberHave you tried looking through Contacts?
Also, the spotlight have several portfolios of excellent photographers at their london base.Sally BeaumontMemberDrat!
How do you find out about castings etc? Where do you advertise yourself.
I’m a female v/o so no competition!
SalSally BeaumontMemberWell, I’ve been with voicefinder since september, and I got work within the first month! They don’t offer to house as many samples as voiceovers, but then I haven’t had much work from them: I joined earlier in the month.
I think it depends on whether there’s a lot of comeptition, or a niche for your voice- have a browse on their and see if you stand out.
Also vocefinder give you the option of paying monthly, so I did this to begin with and got work so quickly I decided to invest in a year’s membership…

Back to the grindstone…
SallySally BeaumontMemberWho’s giving you advice? Wish I had a mentor!
Yes, being specific is an excellent piece of advice, and your site is the key to doing that (and being able to print out CDs!).
My main problem is that I have all the materials, publciity etc but no one to send them to! Answers on a postcard…
Are there specific places that voice work is advertised, or should I simply send stuff to people who are using voices…?
SallySally BeaumontMemberIt is lonely and competitive, isn’t it?
Well, here’s my input- I’m not at all competitive!
I’m on voicefinder.biz and voiceovers.co.uk – most of my work finds me through that. It is a tad quiet at the moment. Not helped by most actors now realising they could work in v/o and undercutting us all!
I assume you’re direct marketing- I’d love to know how you go about that, whether you respond to specific castings or just mail out to general employers. Also, whether you work with an agent- I don’t…
I’m about to re-record my voice reel, too, which I hope will attract a bit more attention.
Good luck!
SallySally BeaumontMemberI’d be interested- can you tell me more about it?
Sally BeaumontMemberI run a webdesign company specialising in the entertainment industry- we have clients in various fields, mainly in acting. If you could let us know your requirements we can give you a quote- alternatively visit our site to get an idea of our prices…
